Every locksmith enquiry enters an ownership verification stage. Staff review evidence (V5C, ID, proof of address as required). Only after approval can a quotation be issued and work scheduled.
- V5C (logbook) — usual primary proof of keeper
- Photo ID matching the enquiry
- Utility bill / proof of address (required on the form)
- Extra proof for company, fleet or newly purchased vehicles
Upload clear photos of all three documents on the enquiry form. We will not unlock or program keys without passing this stage.

Frequently asked questions
Why do I need V5C, photo ID and a utility bill?
Locksmith work on vehicles is security-sensitive. We must be reasonably satisfied you are the keeper (or authorised) before we unlock or program keys. Photos of V5C, matching photo ID and proof of address (utility bill) are the usual pack.
When do I upload the documents?
On the enquiry form — before we quote or book. Staff review the images; only after approval do we issue a price and schedule attendance.
What file types are accepted?
Clear photos or scans as JPG, PNG, HEIC or PDF. Keep each file under 10 MB. Blurry or cropped documents will delay approval.
Can someone else book if I’m the owner?
Yes, but we still need ownership evidence for the vehicle and ID for the person on site. Company / fleet jobs need extra authorisation.
Do you work at night?
Where available — night and bank holiday rates apply. Ownership verification still applies; have documents ready.
