Frequently asked questions
Straight answers for drivers, workshops and trade dealers using Apex Vehicle Solutions.
What does Apex Vehicle Solutions do?
We offer two sides of the business. For drivers and vehicle owners: mobile remapping, advanced diagnostics, and auto locksmith services. For trade dealers and other remappers: a secure ECU file service (Stage 1/2/3, gearbox tuning, and selected options) paid for with credits.
What’s the difference between a customer account and a dealer account?
Customer accounts are for people booking our on-site / mobile services (remap, diagnostics, locksmith) and paying Apex directly. Dealer accounts are for workshops and remappers who send ECU files for us to process and who pay using trade credits. Staff approve dealer access before full trade features are unlocked.
How does the trade ECU file service work?
Dealers upload an original ECU read, choose the service (for example Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3, gearbox, or agreed options), and submit the job. Our technicians process the file and return it through the portal for download. Jobs are tracked with clear status updates.
How do dealer credits work?
Dealers buy credit packs and spend credits on file jobs. Credits are tracked on the account ledger. Public customers booking our mobile services normally pay by card for each job rather than using trade credits.
Do you come to me for remapping, diagnostics or locksmith work?
Yes. Our public services are designed around mobile / on-location work where coverage allows. You request a quote or booking through the customer area, and our team confirms details, pricing, and attendance.
Why do you check ownership for locksmith jobs?
Key, immobiliser and lock work only proceeds after we verify legitimate ownership (for example V5C and photo ID). This protects vehicle owners and is required for responsible security work. Staff must approve ownership before the job can move forward.
How is pricing set?
Prices come from our service list and the options you select. For trade file work, the amount is taken from dealer credits or shown before you confirm. For public jobs, you receive a quote or checkout total before payment. You never set the price yourself in the form.
Are my ECU files kept private?
Yes. Files are stored in private storage, not on a public link. Access is limited to your account and authorised Apex staff. Downloads are controlled and activity can be audited.
How do I pay?
Public customers typically pay by card (Stripe) for confirmed jobs. Dealers typically pay by purchasing credits, then spending those credits on file jobs. We do not ask you to email card details.
How long do file jobs take?
Turnaround depends on job type, workload and the quality of the original read. We aim to process trade file jobs as quickly as practical and will show status in your portal. Complex or problem files may take longer.
What about emissions-related options (DPF, AdBlue, etc.)?
Some options are restricted by law for road use. Where we offer such calibrations, they are only for appropriate uses (for example off-road, motorsport or export) as agreed. You are responsible for ensuring the vehicle is used legally in your country.
How do I get help with an order?
Open the job or order in your portal and use the messaging thread where available, or contact us through the support options on the site. Please include your order reference.
