Frequently asked questions
Is this the same as a Stage 1 remap?
No. Remapping changes software on a working vehicle. Cloning / programming is control-unit data work (often bench) when a module fails, is replaced, or needs virgin / used-unit preparation.
Do you always need the original ECU?
Usually yes for a true clone path. Photos of labels / part numbers help us confirm family support before you ship anything.
Can every ECU be cloned?
No. Some units are locked, encrypted, or unsupported. We confirm after identification — we will not take irreversible steps without a clear path.
Who pays for postage?
On send-in jobs you normally arrange outbound postage; return shipping is quoted or customer-paid as agreed. Collect-and-return packages include local logistics in the band.
